INACTIVATED VACCINE FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASE CAUSED BY CANINE ADENOVIRUS TYPE-2

PURPOSE:To prepare the titled virus having high effectivity and safety, containing an active component obtained by proliferating canine adeno-virus type-2 in the cul- tured cells originated from a dog, and inactivating the infected culture liquid. CONSTITUTION:Canine adeno-virus type-2 separated from the dog affected with respiratory disease, is inoculated in the cultured cells originated from a dog, and cultured for 3-7 days at 37 deg.C which is the normal temperature for cultivation. At the peak of the proliferation of the virus, the infected cultivation liquid is collected. The virus is inactivated either by adding 0.02-0.05% of beta-propiolactone or 0.1-0.2% of formalin to the cultivation liquid as an inactivating agent, and leaving to stand for 24-48hrs, or by irradiating the liquid with ultraviolet radiation. The objective inactivated vaccine is prepared by adding 0.01% of a preservative (usually thimerosal) to the inactivated virus.
