PURPOSE:To simply enable right-crossing writing, by applying a gradient compensating saw-toothed wave as a bias to a recording element. CONSTITUTION:Paper feed pulses (a) at a rate corresponding to a paper feed speed are supplied from a control circuit 18 to a paper feed motor 2. Carriage moving pulses (b) are supplied from the control circuit to a carriage moving motor 9 at a pulse rate corresponding to a carriage moving speed. The updown counter of the control circuit 18 counts the number of the carriage moving pulses (b) to move a recording element 5 back and forth. The paper feed pulses (a) are always supplied to a converter 15. When the forward movement of the recording element 5 is started, the generation of a saw-toothed wave of a voltage change rate proportional to the paper feed velocity is started by a changeover signal (d) through a C-R integration circuit 17. As a result, the input to the recording element 5 is biased in accordance with a quantity of feed. Right-crossing writing of a wave form to be recorded is thus simply enabled.
