A delimbing unit for a manual power saw comprising a saw chain (3, 4) and a chain guide (2) capable of being attached to casing (1) of a power chain. The chain guide extends forward from the casing of the power chain and comprises a bent nose section (22', 23', 24) which guides the saw chain in a substantially semicircular track within a plane transverse to the forward direction, with the saw teeth pointing substantially forward. During the delimbing operation the semicircular shape of the nose section is held against the round periphery of the trunk and moved forward along the trunk. The delimbing unit facilitates and accelerates delimbing considerably, while reducing any danger of an accident and enabling a definitely improved working position.
