Herbicidal and fungicidal pyrazolium salts - for control of wild oat in wheat and protection of cereals against mildew

Pyrazolium salts of formula (I) and their acid-addition salts with mineral acids are new: (where R' and R2 are 1-4C alkyl; R3 is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, aryl, aralkyl, CN, -CONH2 or alkoxycarbonyl; R4 is H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, 1-4C alkylsulphonyl, or halo; R5 is a group of formula: 3-7C cycloalkyl or the group of formula: -N (CH2)n - R3; Y and Z are H, halo, 1-4C alkyl, or 1-4C alkoxy; X is an anion (one or three valent); n is 4,5 or 6; m is 1,2 or 3). Used as post-emergence herbicides, and fungicides; esp. useful for control of wild oat in wheat crops. Application rates (post-emergence) for this use are 0.28-4.48 kg/ha depending on the variety of wheat. Also used for protection of plants, esp. cereals, against fungi, e.g. mildew by application of 100-5600 ppm of I.
