In a brake booster for an automotive vehicle, the casing end walls (14, 15) each have depressions (22, 23) which are formed on an end wall section (14.1, 15.1) and extend substantially radially. The circumferential edge (2.1) of the movable wall (2) recedes in each case in the area of a depression of the casing end wall and the depressions each have a bottom (22.1) which extends from a point of introduction of the axial force (19, 20) angled relative to the casing longitudinal axis in a substantially straight line up to a circumferentially radially-reinforced force-receiving section (17) at the casing periphery.
