F.973PROCESS FOR REMOVING HUMIC MATTERFROM PHOSPHORIC ACID SOLUTIONSABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA process is disclosed for removing colloidal andnon-colloidal humic matter from an aqueous solution of phosphoricacid, the process comprising (a) treating the phosphoric acidsolution with a flocculant to flocculate the humic matter,(b) adding to the aqueous solution an effective amount of aphenol compound in order to destabilize the colloidal humicmatter contained in the solution and to aid in the formation offroth, and (c) separating the humic matter from the solution byfroth flotation.
