A B S T R A C TApparatus for separating gas and liquid, comprising a centralupflow tube which at the to opens, via an overflow edge, into aseparator hood fitted over and around the top and having a gasoutlet above and a liquid outlet below the overflow edge.The overflow edge is formed by a system of partitions which dividethe space in the separator hood above the upflow tube and thespace next to it into two kinds of compartments, - open at thetop - each compartment extending in the space over the upflowtube and in the space next to it, the compartments consisting ofrisers or downcomers. A riser and a downcomer are side by sideand have one partition in common. Slurry reactor comprisingthe above apparatus. Synthesis process using the slurry reactor.
