ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA solution of a hydrocarbon-soluble organo molybdenumcomplex obtained as the solution reaction product of a hydrocarbylsubstituted thio-bis-phenol, e.g. 2,21-thio-bis (4-iso-nonyl phenol),with a molybdenum compound, e.g. molybdic oxide, in the presence ofan amine, e.g. ethylene diamine, in a solvent of a C8-C50 alkyl substi-tuted phenol, e.g. nonyl phenol, is a useful hydrocarbon additive,particularly when used in combination with an oil-soluble sulfur donor,e.g. a metal dialkyl dithio phosphate, which provides an additivecombination for lubricants and fuels whereby the resulting lubricatingcomposition exhibits and improved antifriction property.
