ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSUREA monitor assembly is provided for monitoring theeffectiveness of electrochemical crevice corrosion pro-tection of a stainless steel member. The assembly com-prises the combination of a number of elements namely,a mount electrically connected and secured to a stain-less steel member; an electrically non-conductivesleeve disposed on the mount; a frusto-conical central-ly apertured metal spacer disposed on the sleeve inelectrical contact with the mount; a stainless steelcentrally apertured monitor coupon disposed on thesleeve in electrical contact with the spacer; a seg-mented electrically non-conductive centrally apertureddisc disposed on the sleeve in non-electrical contactwith the monitor coupon; a second spacer, identicalwith the first disposed in non-electrical contact withthe disc; a second monitor coupon identical to thefirst in contact with a second spacer; a second discidentical with the first disposed in the same way withthe second monitor coupon; and, a centrally aperturedlocknut threaded onto the mount and holding the memberson the sleeve under a predetermined, substantiallyconstant mechanical stress. The face-to-face contactof the first coupon with the first spacer and the firstsegmented disc is identical to the face-to-face contactof the second coupon with the second spacer and thesecond segmented disc.
