TITLEUTILITY DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR FLOATING PIERSABSTRACTA system for distributing utility service such aselectrical power, telephone service and water to a pluralityof spaced apart finger floats extending angularly from afloating mainwalk. The floats are formed by rectangularconcrete shells filled with a buoyant material and having aplurality of tie rods extending transversely through thefloats with their ends projecting from the sides. The floatsare typically fastened to each other by elongated wales ex-tending along the sides of the floats which bridge the jointsbetween adjacent floats. In one embodiment the wales includeinner and outer wale members separated from each other by aplurality of rectangularly shaped spacers. The spacers aswell as the gap between the wale members are preferably cov-ered by an elongated cover. Utility conduits extend alongthe gap between the inner and outer wale members and are sup-ported by the spacers. Utility outlet fixtures are mountedon the wale members thereby allowing the utility conduits tobe easily connected to the utility outlet since the utilityconduits are positioned directly beneath the fixtures. Inanother embodiment the spacers form a continuous beam extend-ing along the side of each mainwalk float. The utility con-duits extend through the beam to a plurality of conventionalutility outlets mounted directly on the beams.
