ABSTRACTThe invention is concerned with prefabricatedbuilding units for constructing buildings. Each buildingunit comprises a metallic structure having the shape of aright prism and comprising (a) a lower frame formed ofrectangular plates or sheets disposed along the side facesof the prism in such a manner that the bottom edge of suchlower frame forms the sides of the bottom base of theprism; (b) an upper frame formed of rectangular platesor sheets disposed along the side faces of the prism insuch a manner that the top edge of such upper frame formsthe sides of the top base of the prism, the rectangularplates or sheets of said lower and upper frames having awidth comprised between 200 and 1000 mm; and (c) uprightshaving a V-shaped section joining together the frames anddefining rectangular flanges. Each upright is disposed insuch a manner that its edge forms a vertical edge of theprism and that its flanges are disposed along the sidefaces of the prism, the rectangular flanges having a widthcomprised between 200 and 1000 mm. The building units ofthe invention can be fixed solely by one or more of theirside faces against one or more side faces of juxtaposedunits so as to enable the units to be disposed in a bridgeor cantilever arrangement.
