The units making up the works intended to control the transport and deposit of snow or sand are each mounted rotatingly about a vertical shaft, a stagger of their screen portion with respect to that shaft causing the whole unit to be oriented under the action of the wind alone to a position at right angle to the direction of said wind. A support tube (i) anchored in the ground, particularly removable in a foundation tube (k), is covered with a rotary tube (g) carrying in cantilever a support frame (B) of the paling screen made of planks (c). The ground clearance of the screen is adjustable by adjusting the telescoping carrier tubes (i, j), either by means of a screw-nut system (f) housed in the closed upper portion of the rotary tube (g), or by means of a teflon teflon ring (p) forming a bearing for the lower end of the rotary tube (j) and keyable (q) on the support tube (i) at different heights. The openwork screen may have a square shape with 40-60% of voids, or a trapezoidal or rectangular shape with the smaller side at the bottom, with 10-30% of voids. The trapezoidal shape and the variable ground clearance allow a utilization in grounds having a slope of up to 80%. The screen is mounted inclined with respect to the vertical: telescopic arms (N) arranged in between the rotary tube (j) and the screen carrier frame (B) allow the adjustment of such inclination.
