The oven has a flush control panel. Each rotary control switch has a projecting stem and the handle slides over this. When not in use it is pushed in so as to be flush with the control panel and is latched in place by a spring clip which engages in a recess in the handle. For operation the handle is pulled out against the spring clip and once clear of it is held in the withdrawn position by a coil spring. The handle slides over the projecting stem of the switch but rotates with it. In the flush position it operates a micro switch which disconnects the control switch so that the handle must be pulled out to work the control.
