The electrical machine provided with a rotary brush-holder comprises a stator, a rotor and, fixed in position opposite each other, collector (1) and contact rings (2,3). An electrically connected pair of brushes (4,5), are located in a metallic, common body (8) provided with sockets for receiving the brushes (4,5) and biasing springs (7) for the brushes (4,5). The common body (8) is attached by a screw (9) to a bearer (10,11) which is mounted on a shaft (14) of the machine. The bearer (10,11) is mounted on the shaft (14) by a metallic sleeve (13) but is insulated from the sleeve (13) by an intermediate insulating sleeve (12). The bearer may be metallic or of insulating material.
