Warning system for traffic direction control - uses pulse generators inserted in road surface coupled to circuit loops to sense traffic travelling in wrong direction

The warning system for road vehicles is designed to indicate if traffic travels in the wrong direction down a motorway exit road. Traffic passing down one lane of a motorway (1) exits down a slip road (2) and passes over three pulse generators (3,4,5) inset into the road surface. Passage in the correct direction causes the vehicle to trip a timer (18) coupled to relay (6) in a circuit with a supply (14) and a main control relay (13). Other loops (10,11) are interlinked such that the alarm display is not activated. When vehicles pass in the opposite direction the main control relay closes to activate the alarm.
