Drill or other tool performance monitor - uses liq. jet deviated by drill and controlled by pneumatic switching receiver nozzle

The appliance monitors the performance of a movable tool, esp. a drill, using a pressure medium jet, e.g. a concentrated liquid jet (4), which crosses the movement path of the drill, and may be deviated by it. Any deviations are monitored by a receiver. The receiver consists of a pneumatic switching unit. An air jet is guided on the receiver side, to generate a pneumatic signal, when the non-deviated liquid jet makes contact with it. The liquid jet is generated by a nozzle (1), and positioned opposite to it is a receiver nozzle (2) on the other side of the movement path (3') of the drill (3). The aperture (7) of the second nozzle may be sealed by the liquid jet, and it forms the outlet of a pipe (6) of the pneumatic unit.
