The mechanism is held by a permanent magnet and, when released hits an elasticised contact pad to press it against a printed circuit interleaved comb formation contact plate. The interleaved printed circuit comb contacts are on a PGB (10) behind an elasticised membrane (9) at one end of the switch. The ferro magnetic ball (7) is held at the opposite end of the switch on one pole of a permanent magnet (4). When the switch operates the ball hits the centre of the membrane (9) at the point where it has a conducting material (9b) on the surface facing the comb contacts on the PCB (10). The membrane has a thicker periphery (9a) so that its centre (9b) normally stands away from the contacts behind it. When the contacts are made, a circuit is completed between the contact terminals (13,14).
