An appts. for supplying water to programme-controlled household or other appliances operating at different water temps., such as washing machines, washing up machines and the like, is constructed as follows. The water inlet (2) to the appliance is connected to two or more feed pipes (4,5,6) which supply water at different temps.; the feed through these various pipes is regulated as a function of the water temp. required, more specifically by electrically controlled valves, (7,8,9), such as solenoid valves. These valves may be switched on and off by control pulses from the machine programme or from a temp. sensor integrated into the machine. The appts. is intended esp. for making max. use of available heat sources, i.e. economising in use of the electrical heater incorporated in the washing machine or the like by using heated tap water.
