Water is pumed (7) to panels (5) from the heater (2) whose burner (4) is switched (K1, K3) in accordance with memorised upper and lower hot-water temp. characteristics (TVo,TVu) and readings of a thermometer (TV). A constant mixer (6) combines outgoing and recirculated water in equal proportions. The pump (7) is started when the heater temp. (T1) attains 55 deg.C, and stopped when the supply temp. has fallen to the lower limit (TVu) with the burner (4) off. USE/ADVANTAGE - Over temp. range from 40 to 75 deg. C, more thermal energy is stored with fewer switching operations for both small and larger vols. of water.
