The under floor heating system with a heating coil uses supports which can be suspended from the floor joists. These can consist of sheets flanged at one end so that they pass around the tops of the rafters, then lie inside the space between the rafters at low level. Their other ends can then overlap and are secured together. This forms a trough or a well to hold an insulating layer as well as the heating coil and its supports, all remaining below the level of the floor, carried by the rafters.
