Surge arrester mounting for LV circuits - has button type arrester clamped by spring pressure between line and earth bar

The application is to low or medium voltage equipment mounted on chassis (7) or support plates. A channel section earth electrode (1) is fixed to the support plate (7). Parallel to its vertical sides are the rows of live terminals for which surge suppression is required. Each terminal (2) carries a spring clip (3) whose vertical face is adjacent to the corresp. face of the earth bar (1). The button type arrester (8) is held by the soring force exerted by the clip pressing it against the earth bar. For greater locational security the spring clip has a domed area (4) which fits into a corresp. depression in the arrester button housing. For easier insertion of the button the free ends of both earth bar sides and spring clips are angled away from each other (6,6').
