The car washing system for installation at a domestic garage, or courtyard has a car washing brush supplied with water via a flexible hose (12). The latter is connected to the delivery branch of an electrically driven, immersion motor-pump set (14). The current supply cable (16) for the latter is designed for connection to the d.c. circuit of the motorcar. The immersion pump set is fitted in a portable water vessel. Preferably the current supply cable is fitted with a switch (18) and a plug connector (19) which can be inserted in a socket (20) of the car dashboard, normally used for a cigarette lighter. In the hose may be fitted a throttle near the washing brush (10). The throttle (13) and the switch may be adjacent each other when the cable and the water hose are connected together. The system is typically designed for a 12 V battery car installation.
