A circuit for determining the variations with time of a signal or the relationship of the signal to a comparison signal measures frequency, phase, or pulse duration variations. It operates simply, noncritically and economically. An auxiliary signal is brought into coincidence with the signal being investigated using a coincidence detector and control circuit. The effects on the signal produced by the coincidence detector of the irregularities in the residual control speed are used for evacuation of the measurement parameters. The auxiliary signal is generated using a monostable multivibrator whose output pulse width is regulated. The multivibrator is triggered when the monitored signal reaches a defined condition. This condition is detected by evaluation of a signal produced by the circuit which generates the monitored signal or of a signal derived from the monitored signal.
