The arrangement is intended for utilising heat developed in a combustion engine or thermal process to directly or catalytically split water or steam into usable hydrogen and oxygen, thus increasing the overall efficiency of the installation. The water or steam may be passed through a coil arranged in the pre-combustion chamber of a Diesel engine or in a reaction chamber such that it is split into its components.
