The brake pressure regulator controls the brake pressure by the pressure in an air bellows. A member on the bellows has its free end sliding on a control slope on the control piston operated by a regulator valve, connected to the vehicle axle air springs so that when the vehicle is unloaded the member is at the lowest point on the slope. As the vehicle is loaded the control piston moves to lift a member by the control slope thereby increasing pressure in the bellows and thus brake pressure. This ensures correct brake pressure when unloaded and loaded.
