Hydraulically advanced and withdrawn trolleys are guided on the tracks. They have clamping devices with two interfacing swivelling clamping levers, activated by a hydraulic piston, with end brake shoes to fit against both sides of the rail. The system is used in a striding assembly for monorail suspended tracks used in mining and tunnelling. Each clamping lever (7) on a trolley has a steering lever (11) hinged to the swivel section (10) opposite the brake shoe (9) concerned. At their other ends, steering levers are connected to a clamping piston (12) located between steering lever and running frame (6). The clamping mechanism is very compact, but exerts max. locking force.
