Sewage aeration system - by relative motion against revolving aerator with porous tubes producing fine bubbles

A liq. esp. sewage, is aerated by an immersed aerator with at least one tubular element with gas-permeable pores for the passage of air. During the aeration period, the liq. and/or the tubular element are moved in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis. The relatively velocity between convex outside surface and contacting liquid is such (at least 50 cm/sec) that extremely fine air bubbles with a dia. of under 1 mm are severed by a shearing section. Such small bubbles rise slowly, resulting in a long residence time and better aeration intensity.
