Vehicle-mounted straw bale handling system - has bales kept in closed tippable containers during all handling phases

The straw bales are placed into a large container mounted on a lorry or trailer. The container is positioned horizontally and has a large opening on one end, into which the bales are deposited by a forklift. The opening is closed and the lorry transports the vessel to the place of use. The vessel is tipped and the bales slip one after the other into the feed bin of a bale loosener. The bales rest on a grille structure of the loosener and the blades of the loosener reach through the gaps between the bars of the grille and the loosened straw drops through the grille downwards for further treatment. During handling, dust and loose straw is contained within the containers.
