The coupling device for armoured vehicles has the tow bar (4) fitted to the earth moving plate (3) on the towing vehicle (1) so that when the plate is lowered the tow bar (4) comes into a horizontal position so that the eyelet on its face end (14) connects onto a hook (17) on the vehicle to be towed (15). The hook plate (7) is provided with a hollow back (21) onto which the bar rests so that when the vehicle is pushed the vehicles remain securely coupled. This method allows the coupling of the vehicles while the driver remains in the security of the armour plating of the vehicle when operating in dangerous terrain.
