The straight grab cutting edge is located on the guide shaft of a jaw for clamping a trunk of timber onto the branch of a veneer-cutting machine. The cutting edge (2) is rotatably mounted on the shaft (1), and is connected to it by a retaining plate (6), of the shape of the hole, let into the cutting edge by a stepped hole (5).
