Between adjacent rolls in the sec. cooling zone are at least two coolant spraying nozzles, which are located on coolant supply pipes mounted on holders. The holders are located on a pair of levers joined by a push rod, so the movement of one lever in one direction causes the other lever to move in the opposite direction. The two holders are connected by a guide rod located in a protective telescopic tube. One of the holders is moved by a third lever actuated by an adjusting spindle; and the overall result is that the distance between the spraying nozzles can be adjusted to match the width of the slab or billet being cast.
