Voltage limiter for solar cell in satellite - has pulsed switch shorting part of cell to adjust output volts to rated value

The voltage limiter passes part of the solar cell voltage (USG2) to a switch (S) that periodically closes and short circuits that part of the solar cell (SG2) with which it is in parallel. The voltage from that part of the solar cell (SG1) not shunted by the switch is always less than or equal to the highest admissible voltage or the rated voltage of the solar cell system. The ratio of on to off times of the switch depends on the output voltage (Ua) and on a control signal (Us) defining the wanted average output voltage.
