The cable, shiftable under pressure and tension, is intended for the drive of movable parts of a motor vehicle body. It consists of a wire cable core, over which is firmly wound an operating wire coil, intended for engaging a toothed pinion. Between the guide tube and the drive cable is provided an intermediate layer with resilient, friction and noise reduction properties, secured by a hardenable adhesive. In the operating wire coil (6) a continuous groove (8) is provided facing the guide tube (2). A resilient strip (9,11,12) is glued into this groove, protruding over the outer diameter of the wire coil. Pref. the strip is formed by a brush-like layer formed by electrostatic coating. The adhesive (10) is applied to the groove bottom.
