The cable loop is wound round a driving drum mounted on a plate. A guide rail with the cable running parallel to it and guide tubes supported between the rail ends and plate are incorporated in a vehicle window-raising mechanism. The guide tubes (26) are in the conventional form of wire coils wound helically. The individual coil turns are wound at a mutual distance (A) so that the tube is elastic for tension and pressure in its long direction.
