A method of making and breaking connections between the ducts under asceptic conditions is intended for peritoneal dialysis, esp. continuous ambulant peritoneal dialysis (CAPD); the end connections of the ducts are disinfected and are connected or separated from each other in a sealed bag or container. All the manipulations required for making and breaking the connections are carried out from outside this bag. The bag may be internally sterilised by a disinfecting agent introduced in the form of a gas or liquid through a duct. Used partic. for continuous ambulant peritoneal dialysis, where the patient himself or herself makes the necessary connections and carries out the operation so that a comparatively normal life can be led.
