Circuit board with joined plastic insulating caps - covering ends of wire-wrap pins

The circuit board has several connection pins spaced apart and projecting vertically from the board. A conductor is wrapped around each pin. Insulators (26-28) are fitted onto the ends (21-23) of the pins (11-13) not occupied by the wrapped conductors. The insulators form caps and are typically made of injection moulded thermoplastic. Two or more caps may be joined together by lateral tags (31,32). The advantage lies in greater rigidity and in protection against inadvertent touching.
