A cover for open automobiles, tractors, fork lift trucks etc., typically as a substitute for a tarpaulin, is of draft-excluding, acoustically insulating foam, or is constructed as an air cushion: it may have an asbestos facing to render it flameproof. Typically, an inflatable air mattress, inflated by hand pump or small compressor, is used. In addition to the thermal insulation properties, the fluttering sounds of conventional tarpaulins and covers are eliminated.
