The diverters are located in the region of the ring rail and the upper yarn guide, the yarn being engaged with the diverters at the end of winding by slowly rotating the spindle in one direction and then returning it back again, the diverters then retaining the yarn in the reach between the guide and the ring rail. Yarn is automatically removed from the region of the cop, so that grippers can doff it upwards.
