Measuring instrument for coordination of hand movement - uses moving point is followed with pen including accelerometer

The instrument measures the degree of coordination of hand and arm movement. This is achieved by the display of a moving point on a screen being followed by the patient with a hand held pen which includes a accelerometer. A carrier (9) with light emitting diode (10) may be moved anywhere within a frame (5) which is covered with a translucent screen (15). A coded grid pattern (16) generates data in the pen (20) which is guided by the patient's hand as he attempts the follow the moving light point (17). The data is processed in a processing unit (4) to give the required information.
