Wind driven electricity generator providing power for building - uses wind turbine within roof space lying along gable ridge

The generator uses a wind turbine (1) lying along the gable ridge (11) of a building roof, so that the turbine (1) is driven by the air stream across the surface of the roof. The turbine (1) may be enclosed on either side by two hinged flaps depending on opposite sides of the gable ridge and raised into a horizontal position in which they act as deflection plates for the air current when the turbine (1) is in use from a stowed position in which they lie flush with the roof surface. Pref. the turbine (1) drives a coaxial generator in turn coupled via a regulation device (9) to an energy storage device (10) within the loft of the building.
