The invention relates to a bearing for the magnetic shaft (3) of an eddy current measuring mechanism in a bearing bush (11) which is arranged in a bearing hole (2) of a bearing block (1), the bearing bush (11) consisting of a bearing material having a greater coefficient of expansion than the coefficient of expansion of the magnetic shaft (3) and/or of the bearing block (1). The magnetic shaft (3) has a radial peripheral groove (6) which is engaged by a corresponding radially inwardly directed projection (10) of the bearing bush (11), the bearing bush (11) having at least one axial slot (12) extending to one of its ends in the area of the projection (10). To ensure easy rotation of the magnetic shaft (3) even under thermal loading, the free end of the bearing bush (11), which is provided with the slots (12), is enclosed by a bush arranged on the bearing block (1).
