Process for generating the gases O2, N2 and Ar, required in metallurgical works, by air separation

It is proposed to operate the air separation plant of metallurgical works with low-temperature waste heat. This is accomplished by precooling the air to be separated with the aid of cold recovered downstream of the absorption process and by driving the air compressor with mechanical energy derived from a Rankine cycle.
