The invention relates to a process for the preparation of elastic foams from melamin-formaldehyde condensation products by foaming a blowing agent-containing melamin resin solution, curing the foam and conditioning the cured foam at temperatures between 120 and 250 DEG C. The conditioning is carried out by passing from 500 to 10,000 m3 of hot gas through each m3 of foam.
