The flow of liquid for an irrigation system is controlled by a valve which limits the maximum flow. The valve drives a clock mechanism to total the volume of water flow for each user. The control value comprises a shutter (4) in a housing through which water flows from a flow limiter. A battery driven clock mechanism (3) with totaliser is driven from the shutter which has a magnetic shoulder (5) which operates a magnetic micro switch (6). This switch closes the clock electrical circuit when a predetermined minimum water flow is present.
