The system consists of a tank (1) for recuperated water, e.g. rain-water, and a float-controlled valve (2) to shut-off the mains feed (3) to the sanitary installations when there is sufficient water in the tank (1). The float-controlled valve comprises a float (20) and an arm (230) connected to a pivoted valve inside a housing (7) and has a counterweight (8) on its free end, fitted so that when the float rises the mains water feed is shut off. The tank for the recuperated water is situated above the level of the sanitary installations and can have a purifying system to make the water drinkable. The mains water pipe and outlet pipe (4) from the tank can be equipped with stopcocks. ADVANTAGE - Design simplicity and low cost, with outlay recovered by using recuperated water instead of mains water for various needs.
