Regeneration of heat and moisture in air conditioner - has evaporative humidifier regulated in same direction as hygroscopic heat exchanger

The method of treating air entering an air conditioner is carried out by a rotary regenerative exchanger (11) by which heat and moisture can be exchanged between air entering and leaving the air conditioner, and a humidifier (14) for adding any extra moisture required. The humidifier acts on the outlet air (B) before it reaches the exchanger. The speed of the exchanger is regulated so that the inlet air (A) behind the exchanger reaches a given dew point temp. with min. external energy supply. The humidifier, which is pref. of the evaporative type, may also be regulated in the same direction. The exchanger is pref. hygroscopic. When outside temp. is low, temp, of the inlet air is at first increased to such a degree that its state changes in the exchanger without deposition of condensate.
