Drawer extension guide with safety lock - has locking head released only by exerting greater than normal pressure

Guide system for drawers and other pull-out furniture elements includes guide grooves and guide rails (3) and at least one rail with a construction (5,6) to form a safety lock providing accidental complete extension of drawer from surround. The corresponding guide groove (2b) has a safety lock head (7) which is slightly larger than the constriction whilst the parts which form the constriction and/or the head (7) are resilient so that with the normal pressure applied the drawer (2) cannot be extended past this point. Only when greater force is applied can the safety lock be removed and the drawer released for complete extension and removal. The guide rails (3) are pref. screwed or bolted to the two free-standing side walls (1) on either side of the drawer (2) with the locking heads being fastened in the guide grooves on the side faces of the drawer.
