The guides are made from insulation material (1) which is located at the rear of the cigar lighter body (2). The insulating material will protect the bi-metal strip (3), the latter having three hooks (4) equally spaced around the lighter. The hooks maintain the heating resistance (5) in position during the heating cycle. The insulator (1) extends inside the lighter body to form a lining (6) to the body so that the lighter is centrally held. An alternative design allows for the inner sleeve to be made of metal which is supported centrally on an insulator at the base of the lighter.
