Dashboard cigar lighter in motor vehicle - has bimetallic clip holding heating resistance in active position with bent tongues

The lighter is pushed inwards into the reception socket against the force of a spring to bring the heating resistance into the heating position in which it is held by a bimetallic locking clip. The latter has a number of tongues arranged with their free ends away from the heating resistance, so that they can fit into respective openings in an insulating element incorporated in the reception socket acting as the holder for the bimetallic locking clip. Pref. the locking clip is secured to the holder via a rivet which also secures the holder in the reception socket and holds the supply contact for the energy fed to the heating element. The locking clip ensures a good electrical contact and is prevented from permanent deformation.
