摘要
The coke is produced by passing finely divided C between 2 rollers, pref. cylindrical, to form a compressed, continuous and compact cake; this is broken into pieces of suitable size, which are then carbonised. The coke is esp. for use in blast furnaces. Conventional coking and carbonisation plant may be used used. Non-coking carbon can be used to produce good quality coke. A binder, e.g. bentonite, or a solvent, e.g. anthracene oil, may be added to the fine C before, extrusion; opt., tar pitch may be added, as binder and solvent. The broken pieces, pref., with elongated shape, may be mixed with coking C before carbonisation.
